Apple Pay Promotes Global Fund, Driving $3M for AIDS Fight Worldwide
During the season, Apple donated $5 to The Global Fund for purchases made with Apple Pay on Apple.com, the Apple Store app, and Apple retail stores in the U.S. The Global Fund said Apple raised a total of $3 million for the organization, which fights HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria in developing countries. Apple capped donations at $3 million, meaning shoppers collectively reached the funding ceiling. The promotion ran from November 28 through December 7 to support critical health programs that save lives. Apple has long supported The Global Fund through similar promotions and sales of (PRODUCT)RED devices; however, no iPhones or accessories in (PRODUCT)RED colorways have been offered since 2022. Since then, December campaigns honor World AIDS Day, contributing to a cumulative $250 million raised in 19 years.
